BREAKING NEWS EXCLUSIVE: White earns invite to post-season game

Former Chester High football player Chris White is now preparing for two bowl games.
In addition to the Liberty Bowl, at which White and the rest of the USC Gamecocks will face Houston Dec. 29, White will also play in the 61st annual Hula Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii on Jan. 14.
The Hula Bowl is an annual all-star game and showcase for college seniors. White, a 6'3, 320 pound center who started for the Gamecocks for most of his four years, also hopes to earn an invitation to an NFL combine.
White graduated on Monday with a degree in hotel, restaurant and tourism management.

The News & Reporter was preparing a feature for our Friday edition when we learned this. When that feature is published, we'll have it online.

We have been using a fantastic photography student from Winthrop University for some of our more important features, and he got some great shots of Chris White at the Middle Tennessee State game which will illustrate Friday's story. We won't have all of those online.

Care to comment about Chris, the most consistent presence on USC's offensive line for more than three years? Do it here.

That's awesome news. Good to see the big guy get some respect. I sure hope we can find someone to fill his shoes next year.
